§ 20 FeV · A new licence after a ban
Starting again after a licence ban.
You've lost your licence and you want to get back on the road. We know the route. No interrogation, no judgement — just a structured plan for how you go about the reissue and pass it.
- § 20 FeV — reissue
- No judgement, no pressure
- Langenfeld
- First-division training
What's behind it
§ 20 FeV. What it means.
A reissue under § 20 FeV is not a second first licence — it has requirements of its own. In the first conversation we work out exactly what applies in your case, which documents the authority needs, and how the process runs.
When § 20 FeV applies to you
- Your licence was withdrawn by a court or by the authority
- The Sperrfrist has expired — or the ordered MPU has been passed
- You are applying for the entitlement afresh, not renewing it
- Your old licence counts as legally invalid
- The Führerscheinstelle decides which evidence it requires
What runs differently from a first licence
- As a rule you go through theory and practice completely again
- What exactly is required, your Führerscheinstelle determines case by case
- Your driving ability is usually still there — the training goes considerably faster
- We support the paperwork and what follows after the MPU
- A clear plan instead of guesswork: you always know where you stand
How it runs
From the Sperrfrist to a new entitlement.
- First conversation
Establish the position, make a plan.
We go through your case: why the licence was withdrawn, the Sperrfrist, where you stand with the MPU. After that you know exactly what's ahead and how we'll tackle it.
- Authority & application
Documents, application, formalities.
Führungszeugnis, Sehtest, a medical certificate, the application to the Führerscheinstelle — we take you through every single step.
- Training
Theory and lessons. Structured.
Theory to the current syllabus, plus all the compulsory and special drives. Your instructor knows from the start where you stand.
- Test
Booked in only when you're ready.
We put you forward when we both say you're ready. No pressure, no calendar optimism. Through the test at first-division standard.
Why Erste Liga
Your fresh start, in good hands.
- 01
No judgement, no interrogation
What happened is behind you. We look forwards: what comes now, how quickly it goes, what you specifically have to do.
- 02
The paperwork included
Application, forms, deadlines, Führungszeugnis — we tell you step by step what has to be submitted, when and where.
- 03
Efficiently to the test
Your driving ability is often still there. We build on exactly that and only put you forward when you're genuinely ready.
Reissue
Back on the road. Without detours.
After a withdrawal it's rarely the driving that's in the way — it's the process around it: the application, the deadlines, the assessment drive, the preparation. We walk that route with you, step by step.
- The application and the deadlines, in the right order
- Preparation for the assessment drive
- Plain language instead of a jungle of paragraphs
Good to know
Reissue. Clear answers.
As a rule yes: for a reissue under § 20 FeV you go through the training again — theory, the compulsory drives and both tests. The exact extent is set by your Führerscheinstelle case by case. Your past driving ability helps you here: the training usually goes considerably faster than a first licence.
As soon as the Sperrfrist has expired and — where one was ordered — the MPU has been completed successfully. The application to the Führerscheinstelle can often be submitted a little earlier. In the first conversation we work out when a realistic start date is.
We don't run MPU preparation ourselves, but we can point you to reliable counselling services. Important: if the MPU was ordered by the authority, it has to be completed before the driving training begins.
That depends on your driving practice and how quickly you learn. In our experience, with regular training it's 2–4 months. Book lessons often and you'll get there sooner. We don't push the pace — but we don't hold you up unnecessarily either.
As a rule: ID card, a biometric passport photo, proof of the Sehtest, a medical certificate, an extended Führungszeugnis and, where relevant, the MPU result. The exact list depends on your authority — we go through it with you before you burn an appointment.
