Theory
Theory topics at a glance
Fourteen topics that prepare you for the road step by step. Topics 1 to 12 are the Grundstoff, 13 and 14 the Zusatzstoff for Klasse B. Here you see all of them at once — what each lesson actually covers is on the detail page.
All fourteen topics. What keeps you safe on the road.
Grundstoff. Topics 1 to 12.
The part that applies to every licence class. The twelve topics run in a fixed rotation: you join wherever the schedule currently stands and pick up the ones you missed on the next pass.
- Personal requirements
- The human risk factor
- The legal framework
- The road system and level crossings
- Basic rule, right of way and traffic control
- Road signs and traffic installations
- Other road users
- Speed
- Observation and manoeuvres
- Stopping and parking
- Behaviour in special situations
- Safety through continued learning
Zusatzstoff Klasse B. Topics 13 and 14.
Two topics specific to Klasse B. They run inside the same rotation, and they are the only two you must definitely have attended before the Theorieprüfung.
Topics 13 and 14 are compulsory. Under § 4 FahrschAusbO, the Zusatzstoff for Klasse B has to be attended at least once before you are admitted to the Theorieprüfung. You attend the Grundstoff (1–12) in full as well — the order you join in makes no difference.
In the classroom
Fourteen evenings. One room.
The compulsory material is the same everywhere. The difference is that here someone notices when a priority rule hasn't landed yet, and that you can ask, instead of swiping through the flashcard one more time.
- Every topic runs in the fixed rotation
- You join wherever the schedule stands
- Missing one is never final, the topic comes round again
